The story of Lions United Sports Club began with eleven soccer enthusiasts gathering at local parks in Jamaica.
What started as a shared love of the game gradually developed into a greater vision. During a family trip in 2002, founding member Earl Davis helped a young girl by providing school supplies. That simple act of kindness demonstrated how direct support could make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
Inspired by the experience, Earl encouraged the other club members to join together and help people facing difficult circumstances. The group embraced the idea, and Lions United Soccer Club began its journey of community service.
As its outreach expanded beyond soccer, the organization evolved into Lions United Sports Club, affectionately known as “LIONS.”
The organization’s early work required dedication and resourcefulness.
Collecting supplies was only the beginning. Members also had to overcome the challenges of storing, organizing, and transporting donated items to communities in Jamaica.
With support from individuals, businesses, transportation partners, and community organizations, Lions United Sports Club continued to grow. These relationships made it possible to expand the organization’s work into education, community health, sports, and humanitarian support.
In 2013, the organization became incorporated and received nonprofit status, strengthening its ability to serve communities and build long-term partnerships.
Lions United Sports Club serves individuals, students, families, young athletes, and communities that face limited access to educational, health, and recreational resources.
While our organization is based in West Babylon, New York, much of our outreach maintains a strong connection to Jamaica and its communities.
Our work brings people together across borders around one shared goal: improving lives through meaningful, community-centered action.
To positively impact communities through education, health, and sports.
To help eradicate poverty and illiteracy while fostering healthier, more self-sufficient communities.
We approach every person and community with empathy, dignity, and respect and unwavering commitment to service.
We believe meaningful change begins when people commit their time, skills, and resources to helping others.
We create opportunities that help individuals build confidence, independence, and long-term stability.
We work collaboratively with residents, volunteers, professionals, businesses, and nonprofit partners.
We are committed to responsible leadership, transparency, and the thoughtful use of donated resources.
We believe every individual deserves access to the tools and support needed to pursue a better future.
Our journey has been shaped by people who believed in the power of service. Your support can help us reach more students, families, athletes, and underserved communities.
